Over the past week we Americans were given just the latest and most high profile evidence of our quickening descent into moral and social decay with the sudden and unceremonious firing of Google Senior Engineer James Damore for his leaked memo, Google’s Ideological Echo Chamber.” The memorandum gave an honest and intellectual report on Google’s extreme left-leaning corporate culture that is hell-bent to inject gender & racial bias, all in the guise of “diversity”, even at the expense of an genuine harmonious working climate and overall corporate competitive success due by not allowing opposing or counter views, opinions, or beliefs.

What I took from the memorandum was just as when I was growing up what was accepted as truths and absolutes; that women and men are different, with our own unique and special characteristics and constitutions.  Remember there was even an highly acclaimed book called, Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus, written by an actual relationship counselor John Gray.  No one sought to hang him from the nearest bridge or National Media News camera.  In fact the book became a best seller. We all instinctively knew then, and 97% of us know now, that men and women, as well as the different ethnic groups, are different with our particular pluses and minuses.  But today there seems to be an organized push that stretches over every continent to make such truths as the difference between men and women literally profane.  Kindda like saying that rain goes up and water ain’t wet.  Or that extreme cold weather is due to the earth getting warmer.

Particularly in regard to America, the ever-expanding chasm of accepted truths from reality is most disturbing, for a nation that was founded upon Judeo-Christian principles and whose future as a nation of free men and women was staked upon it’s citizens always willing to fight and stand for truth, and therefore justice.

Today we too often see truth as individual preference or choice.  Truth and societal absolutes have been placed on the moon.  We too often chose political leaders not based on whether he or she is a ethical or moral individual, but whether he or she has a “D” or “R” in front of their name, or if they promise to treat your particular group affiliation with more preference.  Not too long ago, if you were even thought to be a thief, a cheater, or a liar you were looked down upon or shunned, jailed.  If a child brought shame upon his or her family, there was consequences for the child.  If a guy was seen hitting a women in public, about 10 other guys would come to the woman’s aide without question.  Children were to be raised as children to be productive adults by a man and a woman.  We accepted that America was fundamentally a Christian nation, for which all it’s traditions and customs would be the dominant culture – though not to exclude nor disrespect other religious beliefs.  It was okay for a man to give a woman a genuine compliment on her looks, without fear of being scorned. Women had their bathrooms and men had theirs. And we all knew that there were somethings that a woman can do better than a man, and somethings that a man can do better than a woman, not that women and men were incapable of doing cross-activities or functions, just that the genders were built with specific functions and design.  Today, these truths and absolutes are now based on one’s momentary popular beliefs.

But this slow societal moral decay isn’t itself new.  The 1930’s American Evangelical Christian theologian, philosopher, and Presbyterian pastor Francis Schaeffer spoke of it in his time saying, “Today not only in philosophy but in politics, government, and individual morality, our generation sees solutions in terms of synthesis and not absolutes. When this happens, truth, as people have always thought of truth, has died.” The pace of the decay has certainly greatly increased in very recent times. The obtruding notion of “equality” and “diversity”, once absolute truths have become repugnant to those who seemingly want to suppress and deny others their voice and individualism, nevermind if their imposition denies natural truths. It is through this forced indoctrination that truth will be redefine to be whatever one believes is is, at that moment.  It doesn’t have to make sense.  Nor does it have to be supported by fact.  This agenda just seeks to silence disinters and non-believers by force so that their “truth” is the only truth.

But even the least inquisitive amongst us must ask, why?  What’s the purpose of denying the fundamental truths and absolutes that has made this nation the most prosperous in less than 300 years, and that were recognized truths and absolutes many centuries prior?  What is to be gained by making truth abstract and without true form or definition?  Why is that the open expression or speaking of absolute truth such a threat to them that they wish not to even fairly and openingly debate their position?

The freedom of free individuals to speak our minds and express our conscious was so paramount to the Founders of this great nation that they put it first in the Constitution to be an absolute unalienable right.  The freedom to speak is not meant only for those who speak non-controversial, non-threatening, or non-offensive topics or language, just the opposite, and for everyone in between.  1930’s American historian Henry Steele Commager may have said it best of the purpose of free speech, The justification and the purpose of freedom of speech is not to indulge those who want to speak their minds. It is to prevent error and discover truth. There may be other ways of detecting error and discovering truth than that of free discussion, but so far we have not found them.”

What Mr. Damore spoke about in his memo regarding the darkened culture of a company, that happens to dominates social speech in the realm of social media, where the light of the true discovery of truth isn’t given any quarter, as to not to disrupt the agenda of progressive liberalism is merely an reflection of the American social precarious situation, and that too of the world’s.  We are faced with having to accept that rain does indeed go up, that water is not wet, and that extreme cold temperatures are caused by a warming planet, is is whatever one says it is, or we can stand boldly for truth.  Are we to remain free to choose?
