We’re Here!: Freedom Is Just A Generation Away From Extinction

Is it just me, or does it seem as though very few people truly want to be free? Not just in America, but in the countries of Europe as well.  More and more people seemingly want to be ruled and governed by someone or something else, surrender personal responsibility, and allowing someone or something else to determine their success or failure, willfully surrendering their freedoms and liberties.

In 1993 28 nations of Europe literally erased their national borders and identity to become a superstate, the European Union, headquartered in Brussels, by which 19 nations surrendered their national currencies to be under one monetary system, the Euro. But the shot that rung out throughout the European continent on June 23 was that a majority of British Citizens still stubbornly cling to the notion of Britons determing the lives, the destiny, and the politics of Briton, and not some faceless unelected group of politicians thousands of miles beyond the English Channel.

But, the real story is the most troubling. The division amongst those of the British older generation and that of the youth, and those with a formal education and those without, was laid bare for all the world to see1. The younger generation, those under 60 y/o particularly, and those with at least a formal university level education greatly favored to remain having their lives and politics being ruled by a government centered in Brussels, as opposed to those who wanted to regain British independence from European dictates.

I believe that a very similar production of events is set to play out here in America in just a couple of months with the U.S Presidential elections, but with more dire ramifications for the world, no matter the outcome. The presumptive Republican nominee has unapologetically tapped into an emotionally charged mantra, “Make America Great Again.” Alluding to a vow to return the country to the glory of some 60 years past, when the United States and America were in their prime and dominance – politically socially, economically, and internationally. Just as with the Pro-Brexiters, Trump’s main campaign pillar is to stop in the flood of unassimilated low skilled and low educated immigrants into the country that is not being voted on locally, but being dictated by the central government in D.C onto the several states.  And so too, as with Briton, those who are supporting Trump’s message are those over 45 and 60 y/o and without a formal university education2.

But, I believe that the U.S elections have less to do with the two main actors than the audience and supporters that they garner, and future of the ideal of freedom, both as a nation and as individual citizens. Neither candidate is promising less government. Neither candidate subscribes to strict Constitutional principles nor interpretation. Lease of the two is Mrs. Hillary Clinton, the Democrat nominee. She blatantly wants the federal seat to dictate and govern the lives of Americans and U.S Citizens and grotesquely expand the size and reach of the government. Whereas Mr. Trump just believes his version of an over-baring federal government will be better.

The concerning point of both of these pivotal events to me is that no one seems to care that the majority of the youth of the two nations that were founded upon and greatly influenced by the Magna Carta, Great Briton and the United States of America, respectively, a fundamental document protecting the rights and liberties of the individual against the power of the absolute king, or government. A youth population that apparently sees no problem with giving the king, i.e. the government, absolute power over their lives again, in fact they are begging for it.

Former president Ronald Reagan prophetically stated, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream.”

Due to 60 plus years of federal governmental indoctrination via the it’s control of the nation’s educational systems, in both England and America, has developed in the minds of those without any true reference nor reverence of a time of a less imposing central government influence and a time in which individualism and self-rule were proud and indistinguishable traits of both nation’s people, but in particular for America, the notion that government is good and bigger government is better.  There used to be a time that the very word socialism or communism were repugnant to Americans consciousness without reservation.  But in a recent Gallup Poll, astonishingly 55% of Americans between 18 and 29 y/o favored socialism3. But yet, that same group has a largely favorable view of capitalism, entrepreneurism, free enterprise, and small business; all of which greatly struggles, or dies, under a socialist economic system. As evidenced by the fact that America is less than 300 y/o, founded on capitalism and entrepreneurism, has been out performing economically the whole of Europe, whose societies have been in existence for centuries. It is the belief that Europe could better economically compete with America if they joined into one superstate was the main mantra for the creation of the European Union in the first place. How is that working for them?

But what may not be so surprising is that when a “Millennial” [those born around 1980] is asked to define socialism, they can’t4. The U.S government education system does not teach the differences of the world’s economic system, capitalism, socialism, and communism, as it once did. It certainly doesn’t teach of the superiority of American capitalism over any other economic system.  So is it not the fault of the parents in particular, and those of us who are 40 y/o and older who have willingly abnegated our responsibility to teach the children the differences? I say very much so.

Reagan said it right, freedom is not passed through the bloodstream. It is taught. It cannot be defended nor keep without knowing and understanding the difference between freedom and servitude; Just as a young lion has to be taught the differences between a gazelle and a hyena. And also just as Mr. Reagan most correctly stated regarding freedom, “It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.”

The reason that it seems as though so many of the younger generation, as well as the old, in Briton and more importantly here in America, and that we have reached the point that we have lost reverence for the very ideal of freedom and personal liberty, both young and old, is because we have lost the true knowledge of what being free actually is.  My question is, if we as the older generation cannot, or won’t, teach the younger generation what freedom is, in the country that made the word freedom into an action verb and a noun for the world to aspire to, and men and women have giving their lives for the sake of it, then who will future historians blame?

Do Americans Want A King?

ceasarGeorge Washington and the first U.S Congress firmly rejected the idea of the head of the United States and formal representative of the American people to be called king.  Due the fact that didn’t want to mirror errors of the nation’s of Europe, where the people were ruled, via a monarchy or tyrannical system. They created a Constitution for the people of the United States of America that placed the final power in the hands of free American people, not them – the government.  And the Founders boldly stated in writing in the Declaration of Independence that man received their rights not from man, or government, but their Heavenly Creator.  The question that I have for the people of America today, in times of much stress, distress, anger, and great uncertainty, is have we forgotten where we have come from to now openly proclaim the desire to be subjects of a ruler or king?

Nearly 8 years ago the Citizens of the United States elected as President of the United States a man who’s closest adviser Valerie Jarrett, stated during an interview on the eve of his inauguration,“that president-elect Obama is prepared to really take power and begin to rule day one.” Notice he was meant to govern nor lead, but to take power. To RULE. And evidence shows he has ruled by the pen, i.e., Executive Orders. Virtually ignoring the will of the people and their elected representatives in the Congress whenever he couldn’t get his way.  All the while he is demonstratively proclaiming that he knows what is best for the nation.  Whether it be the implementation of debilitating restrictions on energy producers, such as coal and oil, that he as actually admitted in 2008, “So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them, because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted,” …“Under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Even regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad,” he added. “Because I’m capping greenhouse gases, coal power plants, you know, natural gas, you name it — whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, they would have to, uh, retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers.”  to adding new massive amounts of federal regulations via his Executive powers at an estimated prosperity cost of up to nearly $2 TRILLION ANNUALLY [as reported on heritage.org 5/15], he has not sought any ideology but his own.  He has forced everyone else to follow or be belittled, demonized,  or crushed.

Mr. O is a Liberal Progressive on roids and Red Bull left unchained due to the extreme culture of political correctness and gross political illiteracy that today dominates the nation’s culture.

Warming up in the Democrat Presidential bullpen is an unapologetic Socialist, Barney Sanders, and another Alinsky disciple, Former State Secretary Hillary Clinton, who together can only argue on how much to take from “the haves” to give to “the have-nots”. With  no mention on how this formula has never led to economic prosperity of a nation.  NEVER! And how lying to the American people on matters of Mrs. Clinton’s use of an unauthorized private email server while State Secretary and her actions following a deadly attack on an US Consulate in Benghazi is unimportant.  With the bounds of the Constitution unmentioned.

And following the path blazed by Mr. Obama, of coming out of no where, vociferously using emotionally charged mantras and slogans, without never having to express specifics nor particulars of how is promises will actually promote national prosperity, nor how it’s inside Constitutional bounds, the Republican pool of Presidential hopefuls is currently led by another Progressive, and seemingly Alinsky disciple, Mr. Donald Trump.  He, like Mr. O, has a severe self-esteem, narcissistic personality, where he only listens to himself and follows his own path, leaving anyone who dares to not assimilate to be belittled, demonized, or crushed.  Even during his campaign, he does not have the normal team of advisers.  He does what he wants. The way he wants to do it. Period!.  It is ALL about him.  As evidence during his recent tirade and refusal to participate in the last debate prior to the first voting State of the Primary, his repeated focus voiced was how much of a financial lost of advertising his absence would cost FOX Broadcasting.  Nothing about how his absence would cost the US Citizens and prospective voters a valuable opportunity to measure his views for the nation’s future against his rivals.  And like Obama, his naked Progressive ideological utterances, have to this point, been muted by the Media and largely ignored and excused by his myrmidons.  He has publicly voiced his admiration for the “single payer” healthcare model, i.e., Obamacare, as reported in Townhall.com report on the 8/6/15 Debate.  Notice his Obama-like use of the word “I”.  He does not say “WE”.  Or that he will get the Congress to…  But “I”.  He also voiced favor for taxing the “rich”, as reported by Moneytimes.com as recently as 2/1/16.  Like Progressives do regarding this issue, totally not informing the audience that according to IRS reports, the top income earners already pays the vast majority of the federal taxes [according to National Taxpayers Union].  But even more striking insight to a man to be President of a predominant Christian nation, he stated that he has NEVER sought repentance.  He stated during a Q&A at a Iowa Family Leadership Summit last July, “I am not sure I have. I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don’t think so,…“I think if I do something wrong, I think I just try and make it right. I don’t bring God into that picture. I don’t.”” [according to ChristianNews.net]  IF he does something wrong?!  Really?!  So if it not God that governs his life, who or what does, hmm?

But hey, lets not let what one quietly says blur what he says loudly. Right?  But, Mr. Romney makes a comment about the “47%ers”   at a private fundraising event and it’s an front-page unforgivable sin for 6 months?

Mr. O boastfully promised “Hope and Change!”  And he’s given the nation despair, with massive government expansion and consumption of economic production and an evaporating dominant world role; he has divided us on economic, social, gender, and ethnicity lines and religious secularization to degree as in no time in recent American memory; And has unleashed unsustainable pain upon the nation from foreigners, via the invasion of unassimilated immigrants, the massive debt owned by entities and nations such as, the Federal Reserve and Communist China. We have arrived at a point that many of us not only do not trust the government, we do not trust our neighbors, and are not allowed to openingly trust the principles of our Christian God.  But it’s not him that is to blame.  He told everyone who and what he was, it is that too many of us who chose to not take him at his word and to be blinded by his masterfully orchestrated persona.

And now the nation is being presented with a presumed Savior, Mr. Trump.  He loudly speaks of the same things that many of us speak about at the bar tables and kitchen tables, “Making America Great Again”!  But just like we are at the bar tables and kitchen tables, we are short on specifics that are based in reality and are functional and just.  But unlike us bragging and talking about what we should do at a bar, there’s no consequence.  But should this type of person become the President, it creates severe consequences for that.

Just as in the end days of the Roman Republic, the people we given a grand illusion of a republic when they blindly gave the ranes of the government to a man promising to do what they felt unimpowered to do for themselves, without him disclosing that in order to do so would mean the total surrendering of rights of not just those “bad guys”, but of the average citizen too.  He purposefully did not disclose that in order to fulfill his promises it would mean that the citizenry would have to surrender their rights and become subjects.  Subjects to Caesar.  Their new King.  The people in their emotional exuberance failed to ask how he would fulfill his promises within the confines of established Law.  They too had forgotten where they came from.  how they have become so free and prosperous.  That it was not due to a mighty government, but a mighty people who were had their hands firmly on the ranes of their government to ensure that it did not veer outside of it’s lawful bounds.

If we want a nation guided by law, the Constitution, with a high sense of moral governance, dictated by Christian principles and values, than we must first demand that of ourselves and then choose amongst us someone of the same yoke to lead us.

 

 

 

 

 

U.S Politics: Stupid Is The New Cool

The great 1800’s German author and statesman Johann Wolfgang von Goethe once stated, “Nothing is as terrible to see as ignorance in action”. I do believe that he would be more than deeply sadden at the political and social culture present in today’s America. We have two political parties who at the top seemingly differ little in ideology. Unfortunately that ideology goes counter to the fundamental principles of the Founders of the nation; that of limit government led by Judeo-Christain principles. Coupled with a populace that appears to be more engaged with what is going on with the Kardashians than what’s going with the Clinton’s, the Trumps, or the Obama’s, things look to become more worrisome for the nation.

We have become too numb to late night comedians and commentary analyst doing street surveys of the average citizens knowledge on basic American history and civics, from who won the Revolutionary War to who is the President of the United States, and barely 4% knowing the correct answers. And to many it is a joke, a laughing matter. I dare say that only a couple of generations ago this would have been shameful and embarrassing. Its become acceptable and cool to not know consequential or non-frivolous matters today. The traditional American drive to be exceptional, to be the best, and to be knowledgeable of the most basics of the nation’s history and civics, has been all but marginalize as though it were vinyl records or family dinners at the table. We are being dumbed down as a nation. Standards throughout our society and culture are being lowered to the lowest decibel. The reverence for our culture has too diminished greatly. It starts with the government educational system placing more emphasis on protecting esteem, via political correctness, and indoctrinating cultural secularism, rather than teaching the 7 sciences and American civics.

The Citizens of the United States have twice elected a man who was never publicly pressed on his affiliation with Marxist/Socialist persons, such as Frank Marshal Davis and Saul Alinsky, or his preference to Marxist ideology that he openly expressed in his own books and speeches. Not to mention his being less than honest in his presentation of his agenda establishing single-payer healthcare, via Obamacare, and “fundamentally transforming” this nation. But, he speaks well. He is young and hip. And lets not forget that he is the first true African-U. S Citizen to become President. What else could matter?  We really need to get down to the truth about Tom Brady and that deflated football, eh!

Out of the entire Democrat Party it could only get an unapologetic Socialist, Barney Sanders, and another Alinsky disciple Hillary Clinton, who too has demonstrated a severe aversion to the truth; regarding her “lost papers” at Rhodes Law Firm, her public Benghazi Attack narrative, of it being due to a little known YouTube video, and with her unlawful “private” email system as Secretary of State, to run for the Presidency. Really?! Can it be little wonder that the Democrat Party has strategically scheduled few debates to showcase their prime candidates and placed them on the weekends? During the debates they can only argue which one can grant the citizenry more tokens from the treasury, that will have to be borrowed from our enemies. Thus leaving the nation as a whole more financially destitute and unsafe. But hey, the government can print more money. Right? It’s all about me and mine today. No worries. Right?

And as for the Republican side, they have a twenty-time billionaire TV personality with an extreme inferiority complex, much like Mr. O, to head line it’s Party’s Presidential Candidates line, Donald Trump. And like Mr. O, he presents a catchy campaign line, “I’ll Make America Great Again!” He’s extremely vague on policy specifics-the how. When challenged, he seeks to personally attack and destroy the challenger, rather than defend his position on the substance or merit. And he too has developed a massive cult-like following of enablers, defenders, and people who just want to be a part of the show. Kinda Alinsky-like,hmm?.  The issue of character, moral governance, or whether of not one can actually govern as mandated by the Constitution, and is qualified to be the representative of the people of America is seemingly irrelevant to too many of the populace today. We do not care. Trump is hip, vociferously demonstrative as he says what many feel has gone publicly unspoken within politics.  And he has good hair. What else does one need to be the President of the United States today? Right?

Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because thou hast rejected knowledge,…” Too many of us no longer want to know anything, but that which is easily understandable, frivolous, convenient, superficial, or trivial and most important fun. One can leave a stack a books related to politics, finances, history, and religion on the streets of many of America today and it would be untouched next week.  While arguably 75% of the population is financially illiterate, do not know the proper functions of the 3 Branches of the U.S government, can not tell you who fought in the War of 1812, and believe that religion is measured on moral equivalency.  Confining learning between the school walls is cool today. This has become acceptable. But this phenomena doesn’t just happen. Where people wantingly begets wanting knowledge. It starts in the educational system. It is edified through the Entertainment and Establishment Media complex. And then it is enabled in the homes and churches.

Founding Father Benjamin Franklin prophetically warned, “A nation of well informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the region of ignorance that tyranny begins.”

If we as a nation wantingly continue to only be knowledgeable of matters of triviality, thus surrendering knowledge of matters of importance and consequence, and the responsibility that comes, to someone else, or the government, we can not expect to free.
