As yet another mass of immigrants are being organized to make the treacherous journey to America’s southern border, as reported by thegatewaypundit.com on January 11th, it will further illustrate just how much the illegal immigration crisis is more of a glaring illustration of America’s faltering moral compass. I am not blaming those who seek a better life for themselves and their families. I’d probably be doing the same as they are if I were in their shoes and given the opportunity. The immigrants are but pawns being used in an international high stakes chess game where the winner gets nearly every person on the planet as servants and chattel after removing America, the last oasis of individual hope and freedom, and reducing her to a socialistic impoverished nation.
The United States’ immigration crisis is totally a result of the American people’s loss of their moral integrity, coupled with the replacement of traditional Judeo Christian principles and values with Secularism – where morality is subjective. The ramifications of America losing its moral guidance was foretold by many prominent men early in the nation’s history. Most prominent was the first President of the new nation, George Washington. Washington prophetically stated in his 1796 speech, “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness – these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connections with private and public felicity. Let it simply be asked, Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice? And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.” The fact that there is any rational dispute regarding whether a nation has a right to determine who and how someone can come into and remain within its borders and that is being openly championed by the national politicians and academia with impunity is gross evidence that too many of the American people have gone extremely flaccid on the whole notion of “Rule of Law” and what is right and wrong, in accordance with organic Biblical tenets.
I can remember growing up that if people were standing in line and someone inexplicably decided to cut into the line that there would likely be a fight or some serious explaining to do. Socially we understood then that to allow someone to cut or jump a line ahead of others who had been standing honorably, or to allow someone to have an unfair advantage, or cheat, was morally and intuitively wrong. Period! Then our pop entertainment tv shows and movies depicted these values in such shows and movies such as, Happy Days, Leave It To Beaver, In the Heat of The Night, and such. In fact, when it comes to sports today someone gaining an unfair advantage is still severely frowned upon and forbidden. But today, the allowance of thousands to millions of unidentified and unprocessed foreigners coming into the nation ahead of those immigrants coming in through the legal process draws intellectual ambiguity and disinterest. Really? More importantly, how?
A report by Cornel University entitled Illegal Immigration: A Continuing Issue for the1980s, stated then what we know today still to be unarguably true, “Illegal immigration is not simply a matter of mounting numbers of individuals occupying American turf. Illegal immigrants compete for employment and income opportunities with citizen workers, usually low-wage-earning minorities, women, and youth. Equally disturbing is the creation and institutionalization of a permanent subclass of rightless persons within American society that unauthorized residence here fosters.” As recently as October 2013 fairus.org report that a Rasmussen poll of then likely voters:
- Only 18% think illegal aliens should be given immediate amnesty; 62% believe legalization should occur only after the border is secured, and 19% are unsure.
- 55% of American adults oppose “providing free public education benefits to children of immigrants who are in the United States illegally” (PDK/Gallup, August 2013).
- 56% of American adults want the border secure before any type of amnesty is granted to illegal aliens. Only 37% want amnesty before border security (CBS News, July 2013).
- 80% of American adults support “stricter border control to try to reduce illegal immigration.” This includes 93% Republicans, 76% Democrats, 83% Independents, 74% Blacks, 61% Hispanics, and 75% of 18-39-year-olds (ABC News/Washington Post, April 2013).
- 60% of registered Hispanic voters support granting amnesty to “undocumented immigrants” only if illegal immigration is reduced by 90%. Just 34% support amnesty before that goal is reached.
- Regardless of whether respondents support amnesty, 77% (90% Republicans, 80% Independents, 65% Democrats) do not think that amnestied aliens should be eligible for government benefits before these aliens become citizens. 20% believe amnestied aliens should receive benefits before attaining citizenship.
This was just 5 years ago. Have the fundamental principles changed? The issue hasn’t. Is what viewed as right and wrong some five years ago different today? Or is it the lens as it is viewed via the National Media and pop cultural Social Media that has changed?
We find ourselves today in an era of a grievance and victimization culture, where everyone and anyone is allowed to find the slightest grievance and become a victim or offended and make everyone around them pay as though we are guilty just on principle. But, this liberty is only for everyone who is not Caucasian, Christian, and male. Better yet, if you can make a whole nation feel guilty just for being established by Caucasian Christian men that have grown into an economic and social marvel. This is what they want us to feel guilty of and punished. This is why the mantra being regurgitated by the proponents of illegal immigration is not about whether we as a nation has the right to determine who enters and stays, but the right of those “less fortunate” and more deserving to enter to create a better life for themselves because we have so much wealth. It sounds very similar to the Marxist ideology to give to those simply based on their need, from those based on their ability.
But this ideology would not be given any light if we the people stood boldly on our Christian ideology represented in the Book of Psalm 106:3, “Blessed are they who observe justice, who do righteousness at all times!” 1800’s French historian and diplomat Alexis de Tocqueville prophetically said of the great American experiment, America is great because America is good. If America ever ceases to be good it will cease to be great.” The burden is not on those who seek to take advantage of our weakness to choose to not stand boldly and erect for what is right and good no more then it is the sole fault of someone that we would allow to prostitute our daughters and have them bare bastards as we stand idly by or give him refuge and comfort. It is ours alone.
