I can remember when I was growing up that true Americans were about God, family, and country – the first two were interchangeable. I know that I am not the only American today who literally cannot recognize our country. The Progressive Left has dispatch God to the far deepest corner of the very deepest closet to be never spoken of in the public square and barely in our own home. The traditional nuclear family, that of one man and one woman, has been decimated by unwed childbirth, particularly in the black-American community, unhinged cultural feminization, and the very definition of marriage has been so bastardized to include a man and a man, a woman and a woman, or even a woman and a Ferris Wheel. And as far as being for the country, you’d be hard-pressed to name one traditional American institution, a vein of history, a vein of traditional custom/culture that has not come under direct and bludgeoning assault. Not even the flag, the Founders, or the founding documents are free from being targeted for abolishment and or condemnation.
What some call the Spirit of the Age or Postmodernism, it sets to reset or redefine or transform and or replace our customs, traditions, norms, culture, and beliefs that have been set for generations. This is largely being accomplished with no debate, no openly combating of ideas, with very little discussion of the pros and cons of the competing ideas as to which would be truly best either for us individually or as a nation. The proponents of this ideology seem only interested in carpet-bombing everything that America, as well as Western Civilization, has stood for down to the foundation. Truth and Americanism have been the biggest target.
One of my favorite quotes of Abe Lincoln is when he speaks of America’s destruction, he says, “If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time or die by suicide.” And by witnessing what has occurred in the country over the past year and so in particular, with the coup-da-ta of one of the most pro-American U.S Presidents since arguably Ronald Reagan, in Donald Trump, and the year plus long destructive restriction of personal liberties by the government under the guise of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is clear evidence that many of the American people are not capable of identifying that the greatest enemy to our cherished way of life is ourselves, whether it be knowingly or unknowingly. And more importantly, too many Americans have traded their belief in God for their belief in man as they would trade in an old suit or dress that they still look good in and fits for a new one, just because it is new and popular.
It has long been understood that America’s true strength comes from our Godly foundation even from the days of Alexis de Tocqueville’s exploration of America when he wrote, “I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her commodious harbors and her ample rivers, and it was not there. I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her fertile fields and boundless forests, and it was not there. I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her rich mines and her vast world commerce, and it was not there. I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her public school system and her institutions of learning, and it was not there. I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her democratic Congress and her matchless Constitution, and it was not there. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, she will cease to be great.” So our nation’s enemies know that in order to destroy America they have to destroy the symbiotic connection between our great nation and Judea-Christendom, i.e., the church.
The assault on our nation’s connection to the Bible has come not via the vote of the people, i.e., the legislature, but from unelected judges. The first major attempt to severe the cord that joins America and the Bible came in the 1947 Supreme Court ruling Everson v. Board of Education, which established the notion that the United States government, which has affirmed its connection with the Christian God going back to the Articles of Confederation and even opens it’s sessions with a prayer to this day, should not be seen as to favor Christianity in at any level, from the federal to the county seat. And then came the 1962 Engel v. Vitale Supreme Court ruling that removed the Bible and prayer from our public schools. This to me, has been the most devastating social ruling ever handed down by the Court for it has sent our nation down the societal toilet bowl ever since. Proverbs 22:6 proclaims, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Founding Father Benjamin Rush prophetically stated regarding the importance of Biblical education and our youth in our society, “I lament that we waste so much time and money in punishing crimes and take so little pains to prevent them. We profess to be republicans, and yet we neglect the only means of establishing and perpetuating our republican forms of government; that is, the universal education of our youth in the principles of Christianity by means of the Bible; for this divine book, above all others, favors that equality among mankind, that respect for just laws, and all those sober and frugal virtues which constitute the soul of republicanism… By removing the Bible from schools we would be wasting so much time and money in punishing criminals and so little pains to prevent crime. Take the Bible out of our schools and there would be an explosion in crime.” The consequences of removing the Bible from the view of our youth have never been in doubt. But, yet you will not hear the causation between the gross decay of social and moral values due to the removal of Biblical education from the public square and schools and the public assassination of Christianity as a whole to the point that many of the youth have no affiliation with any church or religious institution today.
So today we have arrived at a place in America where the society is heavily driven by the destructive ideologies of “Critical Theory”/”Critical Race Theory” and “Social Justice”. Both of these ideologies are driven by wealth redistribution and the creation or exacerbation of grievance between lower and upper economic classes and minority groups, in particular black Americans, versus the Caucasian majority. These two ideologies are rooted in socialism and Marxism. Which by definition these ideologies are repugnant to the ideal of Americanism. This is why there is the ever constant and systematic and orchestrated attack on America’s institution, traditions, history, customs, and culture.
The Progressive Left has gotten us to the point that America no longer has a definitive identity. What do we as a people and a nation believe in? Do we wear the white hat or the black? They have taken over our academic institutions, entertainment and media institutions, and political institutions to the point that we are actually discussing what is a boy and what is a girl, and how many genders there are. We have American elite individuals and corporations openly siding with and kissing the ring of enemy nations such as Russia and Communist China with impunity, such as with Google and IBM aiding Red China to create an unimaginable surveillance state, or movie actor and WWE wrestler John Cena openly, with tail firmly tucked between legs, apologing to Red China for daring to call Taiwan a country – which it is, even though China arbitrarily claims it as its own. Or like President Biden giving Russia the ability to complete a gas pipeline directly to Germany and Europe, thus circumventing and totally abandoning the idea of combating Russian dominance and influence over NATO and Western countries, and coincidentally Biden is canceling attempts by American companies to complete the Canadian-American Keystone XL oil/gas pipeline and is drastically restricting energy exploration on federal land. We have witnessed historical monuments, such as Abe Lincoln, Christopher Columbus, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Robert E. Lee, be desecrated, torn down, and removed from public view. Our nation’s very presence is by many Americans considered racist. The standing for or presenting the U.S flag is now deemed offensive. Most astonishing, as we approach another July 4th, the date set aside to commemorate the miraculous birth of our nation, a National Archives Task Force openingly states that the founding documents are racist. Yes, those founding documents. I dare say that such an intellectually dishonest statement such as that would not dare to have been openly uttered 30 or 40 years ago. The Leftist in this nation won’t stop until every vestige of traditional Americanism is memory-holed and forgotten and replaced with their version of America.
The only question that needs to be asked within this mad rush to fundamentally transform this nation and people is, If not America is not America as America, then who will be America as America?
We are as a God-fearing nation at a very very critical point in our existence both as a people and as a nation. Too many of us have lost our way. We have lost our identity. Too many of us no longer know who or what we are – how very uniquely special we are to be an American. Too many of us no longer understand what Founder George Washington called “Divine Providence”. Christendom and America are joined together like Siamese twins – if you kill one the other more than likely will soon perish too. George Washington understood this only too well as he prophetically stated, “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness – these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connections with private and public felicity. Let it simply be asked, Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice? And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.” If the Left succeeds in severing our nation’s connection to the Bible and or reduce our nation’s fundamental traditional principles and customs that not only connect us to what made us a remarkable nation to remember-whens, history will mark it as the greatest human tragedy EVER where free men and women chose to be slave and chose to follow man rather than God! At the end of the day, it is our choice.
