Attack on the Bible & America

In these very perilous times in which we are living and existing, the one thing that is under the most constant assault is Truth.  The ability to be able to distinguish between right and wrong, having a true due north, is becoming ever more challenging.  Life is not meant to be easy, fair, nor without challenges. But the compass of life is always meant to have a true due north – point that is always there to get one back on track going in the right direction and on the right path even on the stormiest waters. What many of us are having to wrestle with is, what happens when many of the population no longer care what true north is?  They no longer care to seek the Truth.  They see right and wrong as subjective and relative, depending on how they feel that day or what the prevailing social climate is that day.  There is no topic that brings this matter home today than the issue over what is a man and what is a woman, the transgender issue.

What do they know?

A recent Pew Research Center poll revealed that overall 60% of Americans agree that one’s gender is determined at birth.  87% White evangelicals and 70% Black Protestants strongly agree.  But interestingly,  among the group that I would think would agree with this most fundamental Biblical tenet, Catholics, just 62% agree.  Which is actually up from 52% in 2021.  My question is, what does the approx. 20%, 30%, and 40% of them know of genetics that the rest of us do not?  Have they heard of an incident in which an archaeologist discovered that there is some other gender other than a male or female, something other than a boy or a girl, after studying ancient human bones?  Even hermaphrodites are born in one of three classes of intersexuals: a true hermaphrodite – an infant born with both ovaries and testicles and has both male and female sex organs, a female pseudohermaphrodite – a genetic female with male external sex organs or a male pseudohermaphrodite – a genetic male with external sex organs that fail to develop properly, resulting in female or male/female physical characteristics. But in most of these cases, there is a genetic base – either it is a boy with girl parts or it is a girl with boy parts.  They are not said to have been born in a specific gender.  But, we are not even talking about the 1 in 1000 babies that are born as hermaphrodite/intersex.  We have reach a time in our society that a acclaimed Nobel Prize-winning German developmental biologist actually had to spend energy in calling the transgender movement’s claims “unscientific” and “nonsense,” and their plans to let teenagers determine their own gender “madness.”

The mass majority of the population is being conditioned to accept and to affirm that uncle Charlie is actually the Christ Jesus just because he says so.  And that we should all start visiting him to hear his proclamations on Sundays and seeking miracles.  And that to not accept uncle Charlie’s self-proclaimed identity is hateful and wrong.  Though the Bible teaches that as Christ Followers we should love our neighbor as we love Him.  But it does not say that we have to love nor accept, condone, celebrate, or affirm what our neighbor does or says.  Uncle Charlie is not the Christ Jesus and there are not a hundred plus genders, there are just two – a male and female. PERIOD!  “Male and female he created them, and he blessed them and named them Man when they were created” (Genesis 5:2)

Repeat a lie often enough…

Joseph Goebbels, minister of propaganda for the German Third Reich under Adolf Hitler, some call him the Father of Propaganda, prophetically stated, “Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth”.  This maxim can best explain how supposed free-thinking people, with a virtual computer in our pockets and purses, and who has the human right to question and freely speak recognized in the founding documents of the country has arrived at a point and time where that very technology can be successfully turned against us to the point that not only do many of us debate what is marriage, challenging the family structure, and what is a boy and what is a girl, but question the purpose of God and morality. This is so important because if we as a society cannot agree on what is wet verses dry, up verses down, or what is a boy verses girl, there is not much that we can talk about. Is there?  The very issue of what is right and wrong, what is truth and what is fiction/lie, is fluid and relative in today’s America, particularly with our youth.  “Is” is what you believe “is” is. That would be acceptable if we were not meant to be a moral people and that the success of our nation did not depend on us being so.  Founder John Adams proclaimed, “Our Constitution was made only for a religious and moral people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other.”  The foundation of morality has unarguably been on the slide into the abyss ever since the removal of the Bible from the government educational system and from the public square.  But with the growth of electronic technology and virtual computers and 24 hr news channels and “programming”, the slide has been greased to distance us from what is true, what is just, and what is moral significantly.  So case in point:  62% of Americans say abortion should be legal in all or most cases and Self-identified Christians made up 63% of the U.S. population in 2021, down from 75% a decade ago.  At first glance, these two issues may appear to be separate and distinct.  But, they are very much connected.  First, we must start with the removal of the Bible from the government educational system which has had a fundamentally negative effect on the moral direction of the country and the separation of the American people from the teachings of the Bible.  This has led us to where we are today, when a majority says that it is ok to kill another human in the womb in “most cases”. And that the founding documents of the country were made by White slave-owning racists. Without any facts to back these positions.  If we repeatedly refer that killing the unborn in an innocuous term called “abortion” and treating morality and truth flaccidly and without true form or stern foundation, many of us may start to believe just that. Words have power. The Senate of the United States nominated Ketanji Brown Jackson to the highest Court even after under oath, live on t.v, before all to see, and with a straight face, claim that SHE could not define what a woman was. The Orwellian notion that “if you control the language, you can control the masses” rings true.  If language can be so grossly reconstructed, what is right and wrong today can be totally opposite tomorrow.

Nothing happens in a vacuum.

George Washington prophetically stated,  “… let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”

Too many of us view the attack on America and Christendom as singular occurrences.  This prevents us from seeing how these events are not occurring in a vacuum at all, but are synchronized and coordinated events leading to a goal – the abolishment of both Christendom and America as the Christian shining star and example of God’s blessings and favor.  The Progressives’ assault on America, and our traditional way of life, is an assault on Christendom. Just as Paul’s assault on the Believers traveling to Damascus.

American history and the Founders are being publically defamed and slain in full view.  At the same time, God and Christendom are being minimized and relegated to the back room – being dared not to be expressed nor spoken in public without permission or government license.  I do honestly understand the feelings of those who just want or wish for things to return to 2018 or 1990, or just want to live life without disturbance or confrontation.  I totally get that.  But, if you have young ones who are going to inherit an America that is less free, where they can reconstruct killing and right and wrong into whatever they believe it to be, and less prosperous, what are you going to tell them the reason that you did not care enough about them to even try to take a stand for them for the sake of their inheritance, but rather you sought convenience and comfort?  Or are you going to be satisfied in telling nostalgic stories of your America when boys grew up to be men and girls grew up to be ladies, government was small, when we knew the 10 Commandments, and Americans were free?
