On July 9, within minutes of President Trump’s announcement of Judge Brett Kavanaugh as his Supreme Court nominee, Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) vowed to, “oppose Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination with everything I have.” And he seems to be determined to keep to his word, even if it destroys the country’s faith in the political process and moral integrity.
