America, Where Is Your Outrage?!

On February 26 I read a disturbing report in the Washington Free Beacon, titled The Imperial Presidency. It was on the Congressional Hearing, “Enforcing the President’s Constitutional Duty to Faithfully Execute the Laws,” regarding the extremely troublesome overreach of Mr. Obama and his Executive Branch’s use of power with little regard or respect to the other branches of the constitutional federal government. I read of the testimony by Shapiro Professor of Public Interest Law at George Washington University Jonathan Turley saying, “that the expansion of executive power is happening so fast that America is at a “constitutional tipping point.” WOW!

Three things struck me regarding the article. One, was the title. I don’t know about you, but imperialism shouldn’t ever be a term so boldly used in reference to the President of the United States. Two, that such a renowned and learned professor at one of the nations best educational institutions, who himself is a self-omitted Democrat Party and Obama supporter, is, and has been, sounding the alarms regarding this man’s policy’s harmful effects on the nation. He voiced what many of us have been silently struggling with when he said – “What also alarms me, however, is that the two other branches appear not just simply passive, but inert in the face of this concentration of authority.” This nation has survived for some 200 plus years with the people able to enjoy our purported cherished freedoms and liberties due to the Constitutional Checks and Balances between the 3 Branches of government. But if a Branch(es) decide to not fight to check the others over-reach, there is no longer any balance. The submissive Branch(es) run the risk of becoming “superfluous.” And it is at the citizen’s freedoms peril. What’s most concerning for me, is the deafening silence from the Established Media on this testimony and the lack of any visible robust protest or outrage by the people of America.

But as I look over the nations landscape, even the most intellectually uninitiated person would agree that this nation is not heading in the right direction on so many fronts. And though an argument can be made that the tide has been turning against this nation for some time, little argument can be made that since Mr. O’s historic ascension to the Presidency the knots have been turned up extraordinarily. But yet, public apathy and silent acquiescence seems to reign over the consciousness of a majority of the American people.

Here are just a sample of other issues that seem to not be getting the serious attention and interest of the American people regarding the actions of the government of the United States under Mr. Obama:

Hey, but this all could just be a big coincidence or misunderstanding. Besides, Mr. Obama is the country’s first true African-American U.S President. So, all is good. Right? Don’t worry. What time is American Idol? When is the next NFL of sports event? Matters of politics are too burdensome for me to care.

There seems to be a great silent majority of Americans who instinctively are aware that there is something terribly wrong with the direction of the nation. My question is why are we silent? The minority amongst us seem to find energies to muster their agenda. Why not the majority? Is it fear of being mischaracterized or called names, via the Media’s propaganda? Martin Luther King, Jr. prophetically stated, Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

The great illusion that is perpetrated by the Progressives and enemies to all that America is and stands for, is that their kind of “change” is inevitable. That it is us [the majority] who must conform. It is only our [the majority’s] acceptance of their vision or version of change that makes it become reality. Silent government acquiescence, no matter what the reason or intent, only means agreement to the actions of the government, no matter how insignificant or grand, or benevolent or cold-hearted. As James Madison said, The citizens of the United States are responsible for the greatest trust ever confided to a political society. If justice, good faith, honor, gratitude and all the other qualities which ennoble the character of a nation and fulfill the ends of government be the fruits of our establishments, the cause of liberty will acquire a dignity and lustre, which it has never yet enjoyed, and an example will be set, which cannot but have the most favourable influence on the rights of Mankind. If on the other side, our governments should be unfortunately blotted with the reverse of these cardinal virtues, the great cause which we have engaged to vindicate, will be dishonored and betrayed; the last and fairest experiment in favor of the rights of human nature will be turned against them; and their patrons and friends exposed to be insulted and silenced by the votaries of tyranny and usurpation.”

Only you can decide.

America Just Experienced The Greatest Transfer of U.S Governmental Economic Power With Barely A Peep: The illusion of financial sanity is no more.

February 13, 2014 will go down in U.S-American history as the day the government of the United States officially revealed to the American people that it is truly not interested in reestablishing a solvent economic policy for the nation.  Thursday, while much of the nation was distracted with snow storms and the Winter Olympics, the Senate, with a crucial assist by the leader of the supposed opposition Party Mitch McConnell, passed a debt limit bill minus any limits for 13 months.  And I mean no limits!  The so-called opposition Party, the Party that has a majority in the House, they control the money of the government, the Party that traditionally is to be for a limited and economical sound government, placed no conditions in the bill at all to express either.  None!  Zip!  Zero! Nada!

The federal debt is already at over $17 Trillion, over $6 Trillion of which is due to Mr. Obama alone.  If you include the government’s unfunded promises, such as Medicare, government retiree and Social Security payouts, the debt is closer to $90 Trillion.  And still the figure doesn’t include the whooper of a bill that Obamacare, who’s full implementation keeps being unilaterally delayed for political favor, will lay on the taxpayers for generations to come.  And now the Congress gives Mr. O, a man who once declared that, “We [the government] don’t have a spending problem.”, carte blanche to use the wealth of the citizens of the United States however he sees fit for nearly 400 days?  Really?!  That’s tantamount to giving a fat kid the key to a candy mall for a weekend, hoping to cure his craving for sweets.  Good luck with that!

obama and speakerIf we were watching this at the movies we would all be saying this is a setup and that the heads of the two Parties, who are supposed to be bitter enemies, are in cahoots on the down-low.  But, this is for real!  But if so many of the American people weren’t so distracted and on some form of mental depressant we could see that the National Political Party’s collusion is the only thing that makes any sense.  Mr. Obama is in what is supposed to be his “lame duck” period, where he no longer has the same juice as if he were actually going to be running for another term.  He has been embroiled in controversy after controversy, and scandal after scandal.  He makes Bill Clinton’s reign seem pedestrian.  His name is affixed to his signature bill [Obamacare] that the voters overwhelmingly dislike and will wreck this nation economically for decades.  He shows the Congress no respect at all by writing his own laws, by Executive Orders and enacting administrative mandates/regulations that circumvents the Congress and are disadvantageous to the country.  And his approval ratings have never been lower.  But, yet the Republican Elites can’t seem to be able to detach their lips from Mr. O’s ring…as well as some other places of his body.  The question for the people of America is why?

Currently the average U.S Taxpayer owes nearly $150,000 for the debt of the federal government.  The consequences of the Republican leadership’s, and the Congress as a whole, sellout of the American people is reprehensible and unconscionable with respect to the future of America.  Though $90 Trillion seems like an exorbitant number that is nearly impossible to get one’s head around, just think that it was $6 Trillion less some 5 years ago.  We did not get here over night, but further acts of gross financial nonfeasance and just out right economic theft of the financial solvency of America’s posterity sure is not the answer.  If that is the intent, that is.

The troubling aspects of all this is the gross disinterest from the Media – not just on this issue, but any of the motives behind the actions of this man who sits in the most powerful seat in the world.  The fact that there seems to be no longer even a pretense of a true opposition Party at the federal level, the American people have a choice now of  the bad and the worst of the Parties – particularly if you are of the conservative political persuasion.  But, the most troublesome is the deafening silence of any genuine protest from the people for the blatant confiscation of more and more their rights, liberties, and property, i.e., wages, via higher taxation, that so many have died for.  If the government were to levy a tax of 25% on each of our cable bills, I dare think of the uproar that would ensue from coast to coast. But, for an increase on a bill that is already at $150,000 on the Taxpayers now and will become an even greater burden on our next generations to come…there’s ambivalence.

Ronald Reagan prophetically stated that, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction”. In the wild the lion and the hyena are not friends, but they will feast off the same carcass for their mutual self-interests.  Are the American people the carcass of the political elites?.  If we don’t wake up from our induced stupor our freedoms and liberties for ourselves today and our children tomorrow will be no more.  The choice is ours.

America: The Land of the Dependent?

Barack ObamaWell it is official, the Progressives, with the enthusiastic aid of Mr. Obama, have placed the American people on the single lane road towards the end of America as we have known it. Last week the Congressional Budget Office [C.B.O] issued the report that many of those economically attuned intuitively knew of Obamacare, that it would not only increase medical cost and increase the ranks of the uninsured, but also increase the ranks of the unemployed and incentivize the aversion to working and drive more citizens to become dependent on the government for a living. America will no longer be the land of the “free” but of the dependent. CNBC reported that the C.B.O “citing new estimates that the Affordable Care Act will cause a larger-than-expected reduction in working hours—eliminating the equivalent of about 2.3 million workers in 2021…the A.C.A will reduce the total number of hours worked, on net, by about 1.5 to 2 percent during the period from 2017 to 2024, almost entirely because workers will choose to supply less labor.” And to lay open the naked intellectually strained logic of the Administration, the immediate scripted response from Mr. O’s supporting cast was, as reported by Washington Post’s Dana Milbank, Gene Sperling, Obama’s top economic-policy adviser said, “When you have two parents and they’re both working full-time to provide health care and they don’t feel they’re there to do homework with their kids and this allows one of [them] to work a little less because they have health care, that’s not costing jobs,” Jason Furman, head of the Council of Economic Advisers, “said that the Act “couldn’t possibly be a job killer because 8.1 million jobs had been created since it became law…the report “is subject to misinterpretation, doesn’t take into account every factor, and there’s uncertainty and debate around it.” Congressman Van Hollen said “The Affordable Care Act does end that job lock”…“It allows Americans to choose to spend more time with their family or pursue their dreams.”Their reaction is like the fireman coming up to you, after sitting the fire to your home, telling you that since your house has burnt down you longer have to worry about cutting the grass or painting the shingles.

The government’s take over of over 5% of the nation’s economy in one such as ours that was specifically designed for it [the government] to be limited and unintrusive in the lives of the American citizen, coupled with the growing illiteracy amongst the populace regarding basic civics and the fundamental pillars upon which the nation have rested for more than 200 years, individual self-governance, an intellectually politically engaged/aware populace, and a government restrained by the first two pillars, spelled doom for the nation from the outset.

Like most Progressives of the past Mr. O claims to be looking out for the little man and the middle-class. But, in fact his policies work for the exact opposite benefit. According to the Heritage. Org. Report, Five Health Care Takeaways from C.B.O’s Report, “Spending for major health care programs will be nearly 5 percent of GDP [gross domestic product] in 2013, and such spending is projected to grow rapidly when provisions of [Obamacare] are fully implemented by mid-decade, reaching 6.2 percent of GDP in 2023.” Which means that the government will be siphoning more money out of the economy that could be used by the private sector and go into our pockets to spend as we chose. The Week.com reported in January, according to Forbes, for a 40-year-old, the 2013 average deductible was $4,045, and the monthly cost increased 29 percent to $309…. a 64-year-old man, the monthly cost of a plan with a $3,494 deductible increased 64 percent to $806.” And it stated what should be instinctively obvious to everyone, “Consumer spending accounts for about 70 percent of the nation’s GDP, although experts say that number is likely to decline. Why? Because simply the money that used to circulate in the economy to buy night outs, trips, groceries, cars, and such, are now going to the government, via healthcare premiums. But with fewer hours available to be worked, less people wanting to work, less people will be freely spending money. And to dispel  a grossly false popular notion, the government can not produce wealth nor grow wealth.  It can only take from one pocket to put into that of another. The American middle class Median household income is lower than it was five years ago. Only the top 5 percent of households have seen their incomes rise under President Obama, according to Real Clear Politics.com.  So look for your standard of living to diminish greatly.

Adlai E. Stevenson, the 23rd Vice President of the United States, once said, “A hungry man is not a free man.” Even the most passive observer viewing the landscape of today’s America sees that freedom is on the endangered list. You see people literally existing paycheck to paycheck, more citizens receiving Food Stamps than a check from a job, that there is approx. over 91 Million citizens not working today, and that the U.S government’s debt has sky-rocketed over $6 Trillion under Obama’s reign. As stated in the 2013 Index of Dependence on Government, America is increasingly moving away from a nation of self-reliant individuals, where civil society flourishes, toward a nation of individuals less inclined to practicing self-reliance and personal responsibility. Government programs not only crowd out civil society, but too frequently trap individuals and families in long-term dependence, leaving them incapable of escaping their condition for generations to come.” If a man is solely concentrated on his stomach or where or how he is going to live, he is far less concerned of the chains that being placed about his ankles.

Contrary to popular appearances, it’s not all about Mr. Obama. He’s just the man who is the face of these disastrous economic policies.  He’s the man who unlike any prior man to sit in the seat of the President of the United States has no true sentimental reservation to completely reform the very psychology of a nation that used to be grounded in Christendom, a nation that used to believe inevitably in the value of hard work, and a nation that strove to be exceptional to all others. Today we are a nation more religiously secular, a more dependent-minded people than ever, and more of a feminist culture that looks to be coddled and protected, even at the expense of everything that we as Americans once held dearest – freedom.

America unlike any other nation was not wired to be socialists, communists, nor regardless of popular notions, a democracy. Government security was never meant to be the surrogate to one’s personal responsibilities. The promised Republican form of government was meant to rely on the free-minded liberties of the individual. Not of the collective. And certainly not to rely on the benevolence of the government. But, as more and more of us have chosen to surrender our responsibilities to govern ourselves accordingly, the government has taken the opportunity to relieve us of that burden.

The government is a reflection of us. We as a nation have come to this point not within a matter of days, months, but generations. We as individuals have become unwilling to take responsibilities for our bad choices, both personally and financially. So the government reflects our behavior. The passage of the Affordable Care Act [Obamacare] was passed into law by the Democratic Party majority of both houses of the Congress. The majority of the nations citizens re-elected the man who was and is the face of it to be President – Mr. Obama. And the Progressives, on both sides of the isle, have worked to keep government expanding more and more, with only a vague genuine protest from the majority of the electorate.  This is the consequence of a Democracy, where in the wake of the mis-guided actions of the majority, it is often the freedoms and liberties of the minority.  In a Democracy where the majority wishes to forsake the burden of personal responsibility, the end has been revealed to us by history; “In the end, more than freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all — security, comfort, and freedom. When the Athenians finally wanted not to give to society but for society to give to them, when the freedom they wished for most was freedom from responsibility then Athens ceased to be free and was never free again.”, said Edward Gibbon, 1700’s English historian, and author of The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. Eventually the dues will have to be paid by us all.

10 Things We Will Not Hear Come Out of Mr. Obama’s Mouth As He Reports on The State of the Nation

Barack ObamaYes here we are again, another speech by Mr. Obama on the State of the Nation. As this being the fifth one by Mr. O, the first after his re-election, with a nation still in the grips of economic depression of historic proportions, and with the people of America thirsting for words of inspiration, a provocative and aggressive vision for a prosperous future for the nation to ensure America’s prominence in the world, and or words of a blueprint to draw a resolution to the ills of division and unrealized greatness.  We are all more than likely going to get more of the same warmed-over mantra of taking from those based on their ability, to give to those based on their needs, and that America is a nation a victims and that it is the government of the United States’ duty and obligation to right the wrong.  No matter the consequences to the community as a whole. It may be too much to ask for him to deliver a speech like John Kennedy or Ron Reagan, or God-forbid George Washington. But why are we being subjected to speeches of Saul Alinsky, Woodrow Wilson, and Karl Marx?

The one thing that is for certain is that Mr. O will continue in his reshaping and redefining the office of the Presidency like none of his predecessors have done, nor possibly ever envisioned for this great nation.

The 10 words that we are most certain to hear come out of the mouth Mr. Obama, if his past rhetorical history holds true:

10. Any mention of the positive effect of the Key Stone Pipeline proposal.

9.   Any mention of the literal economic boom occurring in oil and natural gas rich states such as, North Dakota, Texas, which could be the blueprint out of the economic dependency on foreign nations, such as Communist China and the nations of O.P.E.C.

8.   Who’s actually responsible for the attack on the U.S Embassy in Benghazi.

7.   How he believes the nation can regain our Economic Freedom Rankings that have us currently as low as #12; behind nations such as, Singapore and Hong Kong.

6.   That he believes that the illegal immigrants, and their enablers, in the audience should be arrested and departed, to demonstrate that he has sworn an oath to uphold ALL of the laws of the United States, even those that he may disagree with. According to the Federal Immigration and Nationality Act Section 8 U.S.C 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii), “Any person who . . . encourages or induces an alien to . . . reside . . . knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such . . . residence is . . . in violation of law, shall be punished as provided . . . for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs . .. fined under title 18 . . . imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both.”   How,and why is this, any many other federal laws, being totally ignored by the Administration?

5.   Any mention of the fact that for the first time in America there are more able-bodied citizens on Food Stamps.

4.   Any mention of the fact that the labor participation rate is at the lowest.

3.   Communist China is growing as serious military threat, as well as an economic competitor and that as a nation we should work towards regain our economic solvency to effectively address the challenge.

2.   Any mention of the amazing success the Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, and other Governors, have had at economically reviving his State’s economy by reducing taxes, cutting government expenses, and encouraging business development, to be possible blueprint for the nation.

1.   Sincerely apologize to the people of the United States and America for blatantly lying to, misleading, manipulating, us regarding Obamacare – and many other things.

I know, for him to say anything such as this would be too much like right for the nation. And most of us are more interested American Idol, the Super Bowl, or figuring out what to eat tonight.  But as the people of America and the United States become more and more numb to not just the words of the President, but the actions of the government, so more in jeopardy are our cherished liberties and freedoms. As the prophetic warning of Founder Daniel Webster, “I apprehend no danger to our country from a foreign foe … Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter. — From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence, I must confess that I do apprehend some danger. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants, and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men, and become the instruments of their own undoing. Make them intelligent, and they will be vigilant; give them the means of detecting the wrong, and they will apply the remedy.” is placed in the recesses of our mind, we need to know that historically when the people disengage from the political guidance of their nation that is purposefully dependent on its intellectual governance, personal liberties and freedoms are what is ultimately surrendered.

The Great Stealth Depression Continues: Is It Time For A Return To Normalcy…Again?

After the economically devastating policies of Democrat Progressive President Woodrow Wilson the American people welcomely ushered in Republican Conservative Warren Harding, and then Calvin Coolidge, that brought about “the Roaring Twenties”.  Harding and Coolidge both saw that it was not the government that was the engine of America’s prosperity, but a motivated and inspired American people and private industry.  They greatly reduced taxes across the board and government regulations on businesses.

The one thing that can be said of history is that though we may not like what it tells us, but it’s always going to tell the truth.obama smug

Fast forward to today when we bear witness to a president of the United States stating that his focus for his second term will be on income inequality, i.e., more taking from those based on their ability to give to those based on their need.  He also has boastfully stated that if the elected representatives of the people of the United States don’t go along with his vision of transforming legislatively the nation, he’ll just create laws by pen-Executive Orders.  Really?!

What has been totally absent from any of Mr. Obama’s economic policies since his ascension into the seat of the presidency is a focus on true policies that would actually create a roaring economy that awakens the dormant energies of the American private sector and ignite the people’s innate drive to succeed independent of government handouts.

As he makes announcements to further depress the nation economically and increase government dependency, reports come out that the nation only created approximately 74,000 jobs…for the whole year of 2013!.  This is the lowest in 3 yrs. In November The Blaze.com reported the labor participation rate was at the lowest since 1978, at less than 63%.  It reported that, “The U-6 unemployment rate, considered a broader measure of actual unemployment in the U.S., increased to 13.8 percent, up from 13.6 percent.”  Yet, Mr. O continues on with his crusade of fundamentally transforming this nation into his utopian vision unabashed, and publicly unchallenged either by the Elite Media or the National Republican Party Elites.

Not only is Mr. O seemingly unphased regarding the serious crisis that the nation is in economically, but the Media is eerily quiet on the motivations of Obama and the tragic consequences that lie ahead for the nation due to his policies. So Obama continues his purposeful obfuscation of the true economic crisis that currently befalls the nation, for today and the foreseeable future.  More importantly, the Establishment Media refuses to report on the connection between the crippled state of the economy and Mr. Obama’s regurgitated economic policies that have not ever produced a robust or dominant economy in the history of not just our country, but the world.  After some 50 years and over 20 Trillion of U.S Taxpayer Dollars in the so-called War on Poverty it has shown to have been an utter, though very predictable, failure, as reported by the Heritage Foundation

Even though poll after poll since before his anointment shows that the economy and jobs are the most important issues for Americans, Mr. O persists in diverting energy and attention to issues that can only add to the nation’s suffering, such as giving preferential treatment and status to illegal immigrants, increasing regulations on businesses, increasing taxes on citizens, and generally expanding the government into areas for which it was not created to enter.  But for him to do otherwise would be too much like right for the nation.

The evidence of the tragic effects of his stealth depression is apparent, yet goes mostly unspoken:

·         Youth unemployment is at 16.3 percent — one of the highest levels since World War II

·          U.S. enduring the longest period of high unemployment since the Great Depression

·         The number of able-bodied adults on food stamps nearly doubled under Obama’s policies.

·         13 million more Americans receive Food Stamps than prior to Obama.

·         Under the reign on the U.S’s first true African-American President the labor participation for Black Americans has sunk 0.3 percentage points to 60.2 percent -the lowest rate since December of 1977. How’s that for gratitude, eh?.

·         The United States has dropped to #12 in the 2014 Worlds Ranking of Economic Freedom, Hong Kong and Singapore tops the list.  Let that marinate on your minds for a second.  So much for the land of the FREE.

And the biggest tax increase in the history of the nation,Obamacare, hasn’t been fully implemented. This isn’t gonna be good folks!.

So, the next time you hear a politician or anyone talk about our “economic recovery” , ask where is the foundation for this recovery?  How can you have an economic recovery when we have a record number of citizens unemployed, under-employed,  and unemployable?  How can there be an economic recovery when the family unit and morality is in disarray?  And how can you have an economic recovery when the government is taking so much of the economy’s wealth and resources, and restricts so much its citizens freedoms?  As my mom used to say, “there’s something in the milk that just ain’t clean.”

History has shown us that America’s exceptionalism is best exhibited when the people are less burdened by the weight of government. Evidence the economic booms under Lincoln, Harding/Coolidge, Kennedy, & Reagan.  So too the history of the world tells us that a government-dominated economy never spawns  prosperity for its people.  Evidence the fact the though America is younger and smaller than Europe and Asia, we have out produced them economically, have created and inspired more millionaires, and have grown to be the destination of more citizens of the world then all of them combined.  Not to mention we have defeated them on the battle field .  And as for the issue of the government making people “equal”, U.S Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas may have said it best when he said, “Government cannot make us equal; it can only recognize, respect, and protect us as equal before the law.” The proper role of government has always been known as stated by President Lincoln, “[the government] is to do for the community of people [you and I], whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves-in their separate, and individual capacities.  In all that the people can individually do as well for themselves, government ought not to interfere.

Free-minded individuals who are able to exercise their Creator-endowed rights, without infringing on that of another, is the greatest blue print for economic prosperity.  We have 200 plus years of evidence.  It’s sad to think that if this economic devastation was done under a Conservative Republican the Media would be broadcasting daily reports of Americans suffering and the erection of a shabby towns in his name.  But, instead under this Administration we get deafening silence and complicitness regarding his actions.  The question isn’t so much if it is time to return to normalcy, but with so  many of us not knowing the truth of the nation’s critical situation and confused, disillusioned, and have become comfortable with the chains of government promised security, if the people have wearily grown to accept this as our new norm?
